Announcements

  • AIR has posted the new NeoSpeech license verification file in TIDE. The old version is set to expire on May 3, 2017, however, we encourage all users to update the file as soon as possible. Districts will simply need to copy the new license file to the appropriate folder on Windows machines used for student testing. Districts do not need to re-install the voice pack itself if it is already installed; they only need to update the license file, or “verification.txt” file. The new verification.txt file can be found in the “General Resources” drop-down in the top right corner of TIDE under “Download Voice Pack.”

  • Smarter Balanced has launched a new site for Practice/ Sample Items. It’s a very interactive site and has about 1000 items. Accessibility features will be available April 12, so at that time nearly all available accessibility features can be tested/tried out for each item. http://sampleitems.smarterbalanced.org/  This is a great site for students, teachers, and parents. Under “About This Item” detail such as the Claim, Assessment Target and Depth of Knowledge are given.  Please share this information with those who would benefit from knowing about it.

  • The Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS) materials are now available in the General Resources of TIDE, which include item crosswalks, scoring guides, and training manuals for each hand-scored item.  These materials will assist with scoring student responses on the Interim Assessments and are the same materials found in THSS. While these materials may be downloaded and printed, they should be used only for teacher or school-level training. These materials should not be posted or distributed to teachers or others not involved in scoring the Interim Assessments. Student responses in THSS will remain available for scoring through Wednesday, July 26.
